Our Story
Avenue Church is a non-denominational Christian church welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds. We help individuals and families grow in their relationship with God through Jesus Christ, engage with the Bible in practical, relevant ways, and build healthy, life-giving relationships within a thriving church community.
In June 2019, Steven and Jennifer, along with their three daughters and another couple, moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, with a vision to plant a diverse, multigenerational church. That vision became Avenue Church. On January 12, 2020, the founding team began weekly prayer meetings with 11 committed members, laying the spiritual foundation for a new church community.
Despite the challenges of a global pandemic, the Avenue Church team continued to grow throughout 2020. On January 17, 2021, Avenue Church officially launched its first Sunday service, welcoming 167 people and celebrating eight salvations—marking a powerful beginning to what God is building in Murfreesboro.
Over the last three years, Avenue Church has seen many more decisions for Christ, with 56 people taking their next step in obedience through water baptism. Avenue Church is committed to making a difference both locally and globally. Since its launch, we have served hundreds of hours and given tens of thousands to local outreach organizations, American church planters, and global missions.
Even as a portable church, we are dedicated to helping people experience God’s unconditional love, find their identity in Christ, and live out the purpose He has for them.
